Anne Smith and Andrew Hughes will discuss the unique attributes of fashion studies at University of the Arts London (UAL). Covering the latest developments within the fashion industry and the continued success of UAL graduates, the presentation will include a showcase of student and graduate work, as well as the application process to both portfolio and non-portfolio fashion courses at UAL.

Professor Paul Coldwell discusses teaching and learning at postgraduate level at University of the Arts London (UAL). The talk outlines the function of the study proposal in the application process and the notion of independent study, and how the interests of professors, readers and staff feed into the UAL learning environment. The presentation will also provide a useful introduction to the special collections, research centres and projects, that feed into the curriculum and enhance the study experience at UAL.

Speaker: Charlotte Hodes, Professor in Fine Art at LCF, University of the Arts London
Professor Charlotte Hodes discusses the role of drawing as an important part of the creative thinking process and its use in visual research. Using examples from post-graduate and research level initiatives at LCF, Professor Hodes will demonstrate how both analogue and digital drawing is applicable across the visual arts disciplines at UAL, including fashion design, textiles, illustration, dance and performance.
